Dreaming Big Dreams...

Her mama was going to be a star. Or so she always said enough that as a young girl Macayle half expected to wake up to find a massive ball of sparkling light and glitter because that was what she thought a star was sitting on her mother's bed. It never occurred to her that her mother meant something else all together. And despite her mother's rather vain behavior, one might say she was a star to her daughter. A little girl who only wanted to be just like her.

Who her father was she never quite found out. Her mother told her a different story every time she asked--the one constant being that he was an enigma. A man of great power and mystery who rode off to never be seen again. Her imagination went all over the place. Mostly she thought he was a dragon. So, much so that she was convinced he was turned into a statue so she would sit and talk to any that she came across just in case he was one of them. Her favorite lying within a mass estate that she stumbled across on Earth. She would spend hours talking to the dragon statue that sometimes she swore it was real.

It seemed despite her mother's big dreams she didn't have what it took to make it. She was a pretty girl that never passed over to beautiful with an average figure and average talent. She always seemed just on the verge. Good enough for small things but never great enough for more adding to her frustration. She had a string of men through her life always trying to make a connection with someone to pull her in.

Lavishing attention on any would be photographer, screenwriter, or producer that crossed her path, slipping further down into her own illusions as she went. Turning towards drugs to deal with the day to day grind and turning tricks to make ends meet inbetween shows. Always searching for something to keep her fading youth.

Being Invisible...

For most of her childhood she was ignored by her mother. She tried to get her attention by being the bright eyed clever, outgoing girl she always was but found that only annoyed her. Her mother hating anyone who took her spotlight. She learned to get her mother's attention required being quiet and letting her talk. She learned to not get noticed by those who were her mother's friends meant to be quiet as well unless you got kicked around. So, she learned to play shy and let others shine.

As time moved on it became clear to everyone but Macayle that she would outshine her mother. She grew prettier and her natural charm drew people towards her even her shy behavior seemed to be endearing to those around her. The more attention she got the more her mother beat her. The more she would do anything to please her.

Her mother had a stream of men come and go out of life before finally settling down with a man who had his hands in a little bit of everything and a wandering eye. Fearing he would leave her for one of his many affairs she offered him anything to keep him. Engaging in all sorts of perversions to entertain him and his friends and as Mac grew his attentions turned to her.

Her mother hating her daughter for being prettier and younger as well as her own fears of being alone allowed him to do as he wished. And Macayle only wanting her mother's love would deny her nothing. She endured years of abuse, remaining quiet and trying hard to not be noticed by her step father and his friends. She slowly withdrew further and further within herself shutting out the outside world until she met him.

Guardian Angel...

He was an angel and somehow he heard her cries. They met by chance and he whisked her away convincing her that she deserved more. She took a leap of faith and left with him finding a new home or so she thought. The next day her new friend did not remember her and she was convinced she had done something to cause his memory loss. Believing the universe didn't want her to be happy she took off unsure where she would go.

It would be this that would lead her back to the garden she used to visit so long ago and stumble quite by chance on the truth of who her father is a dragon. The gardens belonged to a powerful drug lord but more than that he was a dragon. His kind came to Earth and hide amongst the humans returning to their own realm from time to time. And he had set up a crime base and the garden that she loved belonged to him and was often visit by his second in command and her father.

He liked to lay among the flowers in his dragon form. And when the little girl had first came there he simply pretended to be a statue not wanting to give away their secrets. In time he found her adorable and came to look forward to her visits not realizing at the time it was his own child.

She would sit by the statue like she had so many times before. She was upset and by her surprise the statue talked to her. He admitted the truth of being a real dragon and told her about his realm and how they traveled between the two. She was so amazed and he manged to get her to tell him what was wrong. She told him of her friend and she agreed to return to her friend and find out what was going on promising to return and see her dragon friend again.

My Father the Dragon...

She was afraid when she returned to the angel but this time he remembered her. He explained that the body was a host to him and the host didn't know what he did but that he could never forget her. The teenage boy that he existed within however had never met her. This made her feel better and she agreed to stay with him.

Returning to the dragon she told him what happened and they grew closer and closer. Along the way she found out the truth of his being her father and he looks after her. She befriended more people along the way just by chance a god among them when she wandered into his room and stared at him while he was slipping. When he opened his eyes she declared she was shy and fled. In time they too became great friends.

She is always afraid her new friends are going to leave her or someone is going to hurt her but she still likes to explore and see new things. One of these wanderings lead her to a place called Asmiara where she met a man named Keir, a witch who took her as a personal slave. He is a little rough around the edges but nice. She likes his home and his family and is perfectly fine with this new life and visiting her old friends when she gets a chance.
